Vroom, Vroom, let's rev up, yipee!!!

Wow, before Assignment 1 on Facebook App is done, another gets started; Assignment 2 on Facebook/iPad Application Seminar team formation! Another round of musical chair playing, members go changing as each has to form another new team.

Interesting learning points this week:
1. Collin's story on 3 stone pushers: one sees it as a mundane task, another look forward to see the completion of a wall (seeing the tree but not the forest), and the last visioned the great wall!

2. Justin's Scrum Backlog Planner, a simplified form of Gantt chart - wow, the beauty of simplicity!

3.  Like's Jonathan pointer on team work: Non coder can play useful role, that is buy Supper!
Peggy and I did that, and our two top coders, Kian Zhong's and Rui Feng's were at an emotional high upon receiving pizza at midnight in their respective rooms. Joy to the world (jingle)

Vroom, vroom (Harley Davidson's patented bike sound) let's rev up, yipee!!!!

Hi  CS3216 peers,
Wow, how academic events and activities seem to fly by this week – hardly time to catch my breath for the last couple of days.

Started the week with the much anticipated (dreaded?!)  talent show time during our first CS3216 lesson that got me (presumably, many peers too) jittery.   Interesting, frank sharing of experience on the route ahead by Dr. Colin, module's legend (Prof Ben), and many seniors - what a privilege!

Within days, received our Facebook assignment 1, follow by meetings with new acquaintance for brainstorming sessions.

Can foresee the heart pumping, adrenalin flowing weeks ahead. So folks, have fun while sweating and creating.

All the best to everyone and all teams. Joy to the world!

On Relearning and CS3216

Social media is already all pervasive, holding promises for those who dare venture with hunger and foolishness. And CS3216 module, with its structure, teamwork and project assignments, is like a spring board into this alluring sector.

Looking back, over the past 15 years of my entrepreneurial attempts, there were moments of pain, and just as many moments of joy; I finally threw in the towel as my financial reserves ran dried. It was as if I am in a retreat to lick my wounds, to re-charge and more importantly, to reflect and indeed pause to re-learn.

I have returned to a full-time job, and now studying part-time for the NUS B. Tech undergraduate programme. Nothing unusual, except for my age - at 54, still pursuing my dream.

CS3216 is like an once in a life time 'academic-chiong' adventure.
